Good News, Everyone!
over 4 years ago – Mon, Sep 30, 2019 at 12:59:47 AM

I am extremely proud to announce that we have gotten a set of nearly perfect proofs from DriveThruRPG for Noir World and we will be starting to send out copies to backers shortly. We wanted to show you some lovely before and after photos of the new books.

The Book Exists!

Last minute correction to addresses

If your mailing address needs to be updated, contact John now so that the book goes to the right place. We will lock down orders on October 2nd and order copies to the addresses we have on file.

Fulfillment Order

We have reviewed the list of 776 backers/contributors who are owed one or more books. John will be sending out the rewards in descending order of money contributed. In case of ties, the books will be sent in order of seniority. John currently has a moderate amount saved up and expects to be able to fulfill a decent portion of backer pledges shortly as round 1 of fulfillment.

Minor Backcover Glitch

While reviewing the proofs, we found one small issue with the text placement on the back cover of our proofs. While it doesn’t interfere with people’s enjoyment of the actual game, we recognized that some folks would like it fixed on their copies. As soon as we send out fulfillment for round 1, we will re-upload the corrected covers for the remainder of the backer rewards.

The Back Cover Issue

If you are comfortable with a small additional delay in getting the book in order to get the corrected one, please leave a comment on this post by October 2nd at the latest. We will shuffle your pledge from round 1 to the top of round 2 so that you get the perfect version.

Returning the Talking Stick

I have enjoyed our nine months together and thank you for your exceeding patience. Now that we have sailed past troubled waters, it’s time for me to return the kickstarter updates to John’s capable hands. He will be providing periodic updates to you fine folks, resolving any concerns you might have, and generally finish off the project.

Thank you all, and happy gaming!

Quick September Update
over 4 years ago – Wed, Sep 11, 2019 at 12:03:28 AM

Hey folks,

We are still struggling with getting the game ready for POD, in part due to the fact that the printers in question require that we use some old standards from 2002. In order to accommodate those constrains, I did another full revision pass of the layout and stripped out the transparencies effects which should fix things. We passed the file through the fine folks at DriveThru publisher services and they have given us some useful prepress advice. As such, I have just sent John another batch of files and we hope that this proof will be the one. Meanwhile, John has continued to save up toward the project and we are seeing some forward project.

I will let you know once we receive the next proof.

July Addendum - No GenCon Pickups
almost 5 years ago – Tue, Jul 23, 2019 at 10:55:28 PM

I have some good and some bad news for folks.

The Good News

Turns out that John received the proof a few days after our last update, and the covers look lovely!

The Bad News

Despite how lovely the pdf version of the game looks, there was a ... glitch with the pod interiors that I will be trying to correct in the coming weeks.

Unfortunately, this means that we won't have books for GenCon delivery as we had hoped. We will do our best to get these ready and mailed out as soon as we can, though. We appreciate your patience as we navigate the muddy waters of POD printing.

Talk to you next month, hopefully with better news!
